Admission Interviews

The selection of applicants to the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine is not based solely on academic performance. It also includes an assessment of potential and personal attributes through an interview process, which is a key step in identifying candidates who are most suitable for the veterinary profession. The Faculty designs various interview formats to align with each admission round and program type. Applicants can check the specific interview format of each program from the annual admission announcement.

Interview Formats

The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine employs both Traditional Interviews and Multiple Mini Interviews (MMI).

  • Traditional Interview
This format involves a conversation with either a single interviewer or an interview panel. Applicants are asked a range of questions to evaluate their understanding of the veterinary profession, attitudes, communication skills, and personal characteristics.
  • Multiple Mini Interviews (MMI)
MMI consists of a series of short, structured interview stations. Each station typically lasts around 6–8 minutes and presents a different question or scenario. Applicants rotate through the stations according to a predetermined structure. This format aims to assess a broad range of skills such as analytical thinking, communication, empathy, social interaction, and ethical decision-making.

Note: The interview format may vary each year depending on the type of program and the prevailing context.

Guidelines for Interview Preparation

To ensure a smooth interview experience, applicants are encouraged to prepare both academically and mentally, considering the following tips:

  • Answer questions honestly and clearly.
  • Avoid rote memorization or scripted responses.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the realities of the veterinary profession.
  • Maintain openness, a willingness to learn, and readiness to face challenges that may arise during study and future practice.
