In 1980, the Faculty of Veterinary Science of Kasetsart University opened an animal hospitals to the public and it was used as a place of students’ internship to enhance skills and experience in animal care, namely the Bang Khen Animal Hospital, which provided service for all types of animals. However, the majority of sick animals were pets such as dogs and cats. Sick live stocks such as pigs, cows, buffaloes were the minority. Therefore, the Faculty of Veterinary Science depended on the government agencies, state enterprises, and private farms to use as place of internships for students majoring in live stocks.
The Faculty of Veterinary Science therefore initiated the search of places to practice the dairy farming. Thus, the service area and dairy farming of Nong Pho Dairy Cooperative was chosen, which was not far from Kasetsart University Kamphaeng Saen Campus. It was an operation area. Initially, an experimental phase of dairy service and counseling on dairy health was conducted by renting the building located in Soi Ban Nong Ri, Moo. 8, Ban Luek Sub-district, Photharam District, Ratchaburi Province, as operation location and provided service by car on outside location to examine the sick live stocks with 2 teachers and vets taking turns working in the area.
Meanwhile, the dairy farming in Ratchaburi province operated by Nong Pho Dairy Cooperative has expanded with an increasing number of members, however still lacking animal health facilities for members. Therefore, a collaboration project with the Faculty of Veterinary Science of Kasetsart University was proposed, with the intention of opening a dairy treatment and counseling facility in order to serve the members of the cooperative. Nong Pho Dairy Cooperative had donated a piece of land with an area of approximately 5 rai, located on Petchkasem Road, on the opposite of Soi Ban Nong Ri, for the Faculty of Veterinary Science to establish an animal hospital under the name "Nong Pho Large Animal Hospital" and it was first opened in August 1980. Later, Nong Pho Dairy Cooperative had also donated additional land to the Animal Hospital to support the expansion to the present. The Animal Hospital of Kasetsart University Nong Pho has a total area of approximately 17 rai.

- Open daily from 8:30 am. - 7:30 pm., except Fridays, closed from 11:30 am. - 4:30 pm.
- Large animals service hours: Monday-Friday from 08:30 am. - 4:30 pm. Saturday - Sunday and public holidays from 08:30 am. - 4:30 pm.
