Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Program

    It is a course studying the examination of illnesses of animals, diagnosis, treatment, control, prevention and eradication using the internal medicine or surgery, post-mortem carcasses to diagnose diseases, castration or propagation of animals with techniques that can prevent the spread or transmission of reproductive diseases, research of information regarding epidemics or communicable diseases, whereas also seeking for methods to prevent the germs from spreading to other animals or contact between animals and humans, including veterinary work in public health, food hygiene, veterinary epidemiology, food standards and food contamination of animal origin for the safety of consumers, increase the productivity of farm animals to be effective and conducting research and development in veterinary medicine.

    Graduates and students who pass the basic proficiency examination of the veterinary profession will be eligible to apply for registration as a member of the Veterinary Council and be licensed as a veterinary practitioner, enabling them to work as veterinarian at animal hospitals or veterinary clinic at the ranches, Animal health academics, professors, researchers or veterinarians at government agencies, for instance the Department of Livestock Development, Department of Fisheries, Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation, Ministry of Public Health, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Defense or officials working in international organizations, etc. Graduates are entitled to study at the Master's Degree, Doctorate level and Graduate Certificate level or a Diploma of Expertise in the practice of veterinary medicine, etc.

Qualifications of enrolling students

  • Graduated from not lower than high school.
  • Possess other qualifications according to the regulations on Bachelor's Degree studies of Kasetsart University and in accordance with the regulations of the Veterinary Council.

 

Admission

Academic year 2018, Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine opens for new students according to the TCAS project, divided into 5 sessions, with further information at http://admission.ku.ac.th/
